A wintery week in reception

Reception have been finding out 'How we keep warm in winter?'

We designed and made our own mittens. We had to pick which material would be best to make them. We decided paper would be a bad idea and decided on felt to keep warm and plastic to keep dry. We also had a hot chocolate treat after chasing snow flakes.

Our outdoor curriculum this week as been expressive art and design. We made the most of the rain and painted puddles and our fences, exploring mixing colours. We chalked pictures, numbers and our names on the playground, doing large movements with our arms is great for our motor skills.

We have also worked hard in phonics this week, and have been learning about 3D shapes in maths! Have a listen to the 3D shape song and see if you can spot some in your house.
