What have we been up to in Autumn 2?
We have been exploring 2D shapes. We went on a 2D shape hunt in our environment. Can you spot any at home?
Reception learned all about Remembrance Day this week. They worked together to create a beautiful poppy wreath to display in school. We talked about the fallen soldiers and why poppies are important.
The children shared their experiences of Bonfire Night weekend with us this week. We learnt all about Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate Bonfire Night. We made chocolate apples and decorated them to look like fireworks, we will write instructions for how to make them later this week. We made fireworks using our fine motor skills in the playdoh. We also used used colourful fabric to become fireworks and do a firework dance!
Reception have had a busy afternoon thinking about autumn colours whilst painting leaves, learning how to type their names on the computer, making seasonal cupcakes using play dough and counting with Numicon. Flinders even made a Numicon rocket!
What have we been up to in Autumn 1?
Thank you for joining us for our open classroom event this morning. We had lots of fun and we hope you enjoyed the children’s lovely harvest singing and making the autumn hats with them.
Reception have Forest School this half term. They explore our outdoor provision, such as den building, the fire pit and trim trail. They also made willow crowns this week!
We had a very busy morning here in Reception - both inside and out!
Some of our Reception children had a lovely time playing with our vehicles today. Just a short burst because of the sun, but there was lots of laughter and enjoyment!
